Liisa Jugapuu

Liisa Jugapuu (b. 1990) is an Estonian painter whose abstract work explores the tension between balance, movement, and colour. Her paintings emerge from an intuitive, physical process where colour and gesture drive the composition, and meaning takes shape through the act of painting itself. She is drawn to how abstract painting can convey experience and presence without imagery or narrative, and how rhythm, colour, and tension create a compelling whole.

Jugapuu graduated from the Estonian Academy of Arts in painting (BA 2015, MA 2017) and is a member of the Estonian Painters’ Association and the Estonian Artists’ Association. Her work has been exhibited across Estonia and internationally. She lives and works in Haapsalu.
