Kai Kaljo

Kai Kaljo (b. 1959) is primarily known as a video artist, but his works also include paintings, photographs, frescoes, stained glass and installations. The themes of Kaljo’s work are based on personal and everyday life, expanding into existential and social stances.

Kaljo graduated from the Estonian Academy of Arts with a degree in painting (1990) and has since had solo exhibitions in Estonia and several parts of Europe, as well as group exhibitions and film and video festivals around the world. His works are included in the collections of the Moderna Museet, the Art Museum of Estonia and the Sprengel Museum, among others.
